wnba brawl in detroit is a first

fight in wnba basketball game
Striking a blow for equality among the sexes women in the WNBA had a bit of a skirmish Tuesday July 22, 2008 that made fans recall memories of the brawl between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons in the NBA.

It was sparked by Plenette Pierson knocking Candace Parker down after a made free throw by Ferdinand Harris then it went downhill from there. Parker pulled Pierson down, Parker then was tackled by the Shock's Deanna Nolan. Players and coaches from both teams joined in, and Mahorn -- who said he simply was trying to separate players -- pushed the Sparks' Lisa Leslie at one point and knocked her to the court. Los Angeles Spark DeLisha Milton-Jones then pushed and punched Mahorn in the back.

So it just goes to show a planet with only women would not be war free and peaceful

early comic to movie strip

pam grier as friday foster

friday foster comic strip
Most people, me included did not know that Friday foster, a blaxplotation 1975-feature film starring the great "Pam Grier" was actually based on a newspaper comic strip. Friday Foster, which debuted on January 18, 1970, was the first mainstream syndicated comic strip to star a black woman.A breakthrough newspaper strip-she was a globe- hopping photographer's assistant-ex-fashion model always getting into trouble....the strip spawned a "comic book" by DELL . The strip was created by writer Jim Lawrence and artist Jorge Longeron, and syndicated by The Chicago Tribune Syndicate.
